FDA has issued the first Annual Report on the initial 12-months of operation of the Reportable Food Registry (September 2009 to September 2010). Participants in the farm-to-market value chain filed some 2,600 reports in the RFR system and the four most important causes which triggered mandatory reporting were: (1) Salmonella - 37.6%; (2) Undeclared Allergens - 34.9%; (3) Listeria monocytogenes - 14.4%; (4) E. Coli O157:H7 - 2.6%.
